Survey respondents rank the school's reputation in the job market as the best feature it has to offer for potential students. With several large fi rms in the Atlantic provinces, Dalhousie is a primary location for conducting on campus interviews, which may have something to do with how many employers comment on wanting to fi nd students who have a connection to the area to ensure they don't leave the fi rm after articling. Students also rank opportunities to get involved G high on the scale. The school has a high level of in- volvement in pro bono work, and also offers a clinic program through the Dalhousie Legal Aid clinic, located in the north end of the city, which helps to serve low-income individuals with a variety of le- gal services. Dalhousie Legal Aid is the oldest clini- cal law program in the country. With 450 students and over 70 full- and part- time professors, the school boasts an impressive iven that Dalhousie is located in Atlantic Can- ada's most populous city, it's no surprise that student-to-faculty ratio. And students say those faculty members are highly valuable to their expe- rience at the school. "The faculty is amazing," says one recent graduate, adding that, "most of the pro- fessors will go out of their way to help the students out in any way possible." The law school is also home to several research institutes, and offers specialization certifi cates in several areas after students have completed the re- quired coursework. The Law and Technology In- stitute, the Marine & Environmental Law Institute, and the Health Law Institute all offer students a wide range of options. Founded in 1883, Dalhousie Law School recently celebrated its 125th year, making it one the oldest law schools in the British Commonwealth.
