The Public Prosecution Service of Canada is responsible for the prosecution of federal offences in Canada. JOIN OUR TEAM of federal prosecutors The Public Prosecution Service of Canada is looking for experienced lawyers who are ready to take on the challenge of being a criminal prosecutor. Lawyers with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada appear in all levels of court, having conduct of a wide range of prosecution matters, including drug crime, organized crime, tax evasion and environmental crime. Lawyers working in the northern territories travel on circuits and have conduct of the full range of Criminal Code offences. If you are an experienced lawyer who wants to take on the challenge of being a criminal prosecutor, we are looking for you. These many current and future vacancies are located in all of the provinces and territories across Canada, and require various linguistic profi ciencies. All of the positions are open to persons residing or working across Canada, and Canadians residing abroad. A pool of qualifi ed candidates will be established for the use of staffi ng future vacancies. LA-2A – Salary (under revision) : $75,630 to $108,525 (National Rate of Pay) $75,630 to $124,940 (Toronto Rate of Pay) CHALLENGE: Legal advice, criminal and regulatory litigation on behalf of client departments and for the Attorney General of Canada. The ideal candidate(s) should also have the ability to assume carriage of their own fi les with minimal supervision. REQUIREMENTS for all positions: Law Degree from a recognized university. Membership in good standing or eligibility for membership in the Bar of one of the provinces or territories of Canada or in the Order of Notaries in the Province of Quebec prior to appointment. Experience in the conduct of criminal litigation or prosecutions and in managing complex fi les or projects. Ability to communicate orally and in writing (i.e. drafting legal arguments and documents). Ability to research and analyze legal issues and to provide legal advice. Ability to work independently and in a team envi- ronment. Ability to work under pressure. We are looking for individuals with Integrity, Judgment, Dependability and Effective Interpersonal Skills.
