MANITOBA'S FIRST ABORIGINAL JUDGE, Sinclair is one of the most
important faces of aboriginal issues in Canada, and his work with the
Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada in the past year has
been extremely progressive. He is the chairman of the commission,
which has visited more than 300 aboriginal communities to help them
come to terms with the history associated with residential schools.
Under his guidance, the TRC held its first national awareness event
earlier this year, where thousands were invited to share their stories of
abuse. He is also outspoken in the media on the subject, through both
writing articles and being featured in them.
