Struthers and his fellow board members at the Criminal Lawyers' Association collaborated with key players in the justice system so that courts in Ontario could rapidly shift to remote operations and could weather the impacts of the public health crisis. They advocated on behalf of incarcerated individuals, whose health and safety were particularly in danger during the outbreak. They engaged hundreds of volunteers from the Criminal Lawyers' Association who could offer legal advice to these incarcerated persons and who could ensure that they had access to reasonable bail. They also urged support for front-line justice system workers, who likewise faced significant risks. Struthers was previously an assistant Crown attorney and is now a criminal lawyer at Struthers Law. Throughout his legal career, he has been involved in many high-profile Toronto cases. He is known for his skill in cross-examining. Media outlets often seek out his commentary on pertinent legal issues.
