www.canadianlawyermag.com 29 GOVERNMENT/NON-PROFITS/ASSOCIATIONS KEITH DAVID LABOSSIERE Winnipeg Managing Partner and CEO, Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP Keith LaBossiere is a labour lawyer who has represented both management and unions. LaBossiere serves as external counsel to the Province of Manitoba on all labour relations matters. He helped the province in navigating the issues caused by the newly implemented Health Care Bargaining Unit Restructuring Act. He also acted for the Winnipeg Police Association when it assailed the City of Winnipeg's decision in relation to the application of a pension plan. He has represented his clients' interests before courts, labour boards and arbitration boards. In his role at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman, he has watched the firm grow in terms of head count, revenue and number of offices. TDS is now the biggest independent firm in Manitoba. Under LaBossiere's leadership, the firm was prepared to deal with the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis. The first-quarter financial results of TDS even show an improvement when compared with its results last year, and the culture and optimism at the firm are stronger than ever.
