BRITISH COLUMBIA VANCOUVER
In Vancouver, Dentons Canada LLP added
Jordan Schultz to its Restructuring, Insol-
vency and Bankruptcy group as a partner.
He has advised stakeholders in a variety of
insolvency matters and related transactions.
Sarah Bird joined Borden Ladner Ger-
vais LLP as a partner in the firm's Vancouver
office. Her practice areas include corporate-
commercial, Aboriginal, banking and finan-
cial services and infrastructure.
Blair McRadu joined the Vancouver
team at Lawson Lundell LLP as an associ-
ate in the firm's Insolvency and Restruc-
turing Group.
Clark Wilson LLP welcomed lawyers
Andrea (Verwey) Rayment, Avery Saun-
ders and David Ford as Director of Pro-
fessional Development, associate and part-
ner, respectively.
DLA Piper (Canada) LLP welcomed Jes-
sica Sullivan to the firm's Vancouver office
as an associate in the firm's Wills, Estates
and Trusts group.
ALBERTA CALGARY, EDMONTON
McLeod Law LLP introduced Peter Cline
as the firm's newest partner. Cline brings
more than two decades of experience advis-
ing on personal injury claims and disability
insurance claims to the Calgary office.
Lawson Lundell LLP's Calgary office's
real estate group welcomed Shaun Par-
tridge, QC (partner), Devin Itterman
(partner), Aubrey Guild-Young (partner)
and Devlin Steers (associate).
Morgan Deacon joined Dentons Can-
ada LLP's Litigation and Dispute Resolu-
tion group in Edmonton. She has assisted
clients in shareholder disputes, disputes
involving non-solicitation, non-compe-
tition clauses, construction disputes and
builders' lien matters.
In Edmonton, Dentons Canada LLP
welcomed Mandy England as a partner in
the Trusts, Estates and Wealth Preservation
group. She has worked on matters before all
levels of court, including the Supreme Court
of Canada.
Justine Lee is Dentons Canada LLP's
newest litigation and dispute resolution
partner in the Edmonton office. She has ex-
perience in insurance litigation and personal
injury litigation, among other areas.
ONTARIO TORONTO, OTTAWA
Chase Irwin joined Dentons Canada LLP
as a partner in the Corporate and Securities
group in Ottawa, and is the newest mem-
ber of the firm's Venture Technology and
Emerging Growth Companies team. His
practice focuses on corporate finance and
venture capital transactions, M&A, private
placements and a broad range of securities,
commercial and business law matters.
Dentons Canada LLP Toronto office wel-
comed Michael Beefort as a partner in the
Litigation and Dispute Resolution group
and a member of its Alternative Dispute
Resolution group. He has acted as counsel in
arbitrations, including energy distribution,
lease renewals and shareholder disputes.
Matthew Curtis joined Dentons Canada
LLP as a partner in the Employment and
Labour Group. Curtis has argued issues re-
lated to labour and employment law before
various levels of courts, tribunals and the
Supreme Court of Canada.
Shahrzad Esmaili rejoined Gowling
WLG (Canada) LLP as a partner in the To-
ronto office. She is also a registered patent
agent in both Canada and the US.
Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Toronto
brought on three new lawyers. Rae Deulrae
Min joins as an associate with a focus on
corporate-commercial, competition and for-
eign investment, class actions and informa-
tion technology; Jeff Mitchell is the firm's
newest labour and employment partner; and
Krstina Skocic is a senior associate with
previous experience as legal counsel in the
Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario
Securities Commission.
Ridout & Maybee LLP welcomed two in-
tellectual property experts, Matthew Nor-
wood and Christine Wong, as its newest
partners. Norwood advises clients on licens-
ing matters and draing and prosecution of
patent applications, while Wong's focus is
on preparing and prosecuting Canadian, US
and European patent applications.
In Toronto, Doug Nathanson joined
Empire Company Limited as SVP, general
counsel and corporate secretary. Nathanson
was previously general counsel at Canadian
Tire Corp.
Nivedhya (Nivi) Ramaswamy is DLA
Piper (Canada) LLP's newest associate in
the Toronto office. Her practice focuses on
engineering-related matters. Clients have
included both private and public companies.
In Ottawa, Elder Marques is Prime Min-
ister Justin Trudeau's new senior advisor. He
joins the PMO in Ottawa from the Ministry
of Innovation, Science and Economic De-
velopment where he was Chief of Staff to
the Minister.
QUÉBEC MONTRÉAL
In Montréal, Dentons Canada LLP wel-
comed Simon Gauthier as a partner. He
represents and provides corporate law advice
to public and private corporations in a wide
range of commercial transactions.
Vikki Andrighetti joined the Litigation
Group of Langlois lawyers in Montréal. She
is an expert in insurance law, construction
law, civil and professional liability, contract
law, environmental law and class actions.
