Brad Newby practises corporate commer-
cial, mergers and acquisitions, corporate
finance and securities, and corporate gov-
ernance law. He has become a trusted advi-
sor to many of BC's leading corporations,
private-equity firms, family offices and
entrepreneurs. Newby serves on the firm's
Strategic Committee and he is a key mem-
ber of the Technology Committee. He is a
founder of the firm's Private Enterprise Ad-
visory Services Group and plays a central
role in the professional development of the
firm's students and junior lawyers. He also
mentors law students at the Professional
Legal Training Course. He is a former Di-
rector of the Vancouver Chapter of the As-
sociation for Corporate Growth.
Jeffrey Oliver

Jeffrey Oliver is a Partner in Cassels Brock's
Restructuring & Insolvency Group who
has extensive experience in detecting and
prosecuting fraud actions, both within in-
solvency proceedings and in standard com-
mercial litigation. Oliver recently played a
leading role in the landmark appeal deci-
sion in Redwater, successfully defending
the initial decision. He has volunteered for
the Canadian Association of Insolvency
and Restructuring Professionals to dra
exam questions and also served on the IN-
SOL Ian Fletcher Moot committee. Oliver
has served as the president of the Board of
Directors of ArtStarts In Schools.

wide range of charities and non-profit
organizations. He teaches the Succession
and Tax Planning course in the Master
of Laws (Taxation) program at HEC
Montréal, Université de Montréal. He is
currently working on a project to update
the Quebec Companies Act. McEachren is
currently volunteering his time to set up a
new Mi'kmaq band in his hometown of
Stephenville, Newfoundland.

Michelle Roth is the founder and Chair of
Goodmans' Seniors Housing division and
President and CEO of SenbridGe, a divi-
sion of the firm focused on healthcare and
aging. Roth provides strategic ongoing and
transaction-specific advice to organizations
and handles a diverse range of M&A trans-
actions that involve healthcare assets. With
specialized expertise in CMHC-backed
debt financing, all levels of healthcare regu-
lation and industry mapping for transac-
tional purposes, Roth played an integral role
in the formation and subsequent financings
of many of Canada's largest accommodation
and healthcare delivery providers for seniors.
Roth has been a board member of the Royal
Conservatory of Music and the Hospital for
Sick Children's Executive Cabinet.
Kristina Shaw

Kristina Shaw is a member of Miller
omson's Business Law group, acting for
entrepreneurs, companies and financial in-
stitutions, and advising on a range of busi-
ness law matters, including acquisitions,
divestitures, equity and debt financings,
joint ventures and other business struc-
tures. Shaw has acted as lead counsel on a
number of large M&A transactions, and
she also works in the firm's social impact
practice on various mergers and acquisi-
tions in the not-for-profit sector. Shaw is a
past Chair of Miller omson's Women's
Leadership Initiative and is involved in a
number of charities, focusing recently on
children's healthcare.
