www.canadianlawyermag.com 9 SARA FORTE'S CURRENT PROJECTS Forte Workplace Law: In 2016, after 12 years of practice in downtown Vancouver, Forte opened a solo practice out of an office two km from her home in Surrey, BC. It has now grown into a firm of ten lawyers. The firm aims to solve legal problems at work through a culture centred on kindness and courage. StandUP Teams: In 2020, Forte designed customized, interactive bystander training to address shortcomings in traditional workplace sexual harassment training. During the pandemic, StandUP Teams pivoted to delivering online live workshops, and have now developed an online self-paced version that includes video and animation content. Not your average law job: In 2021, Forte launched this website to highlight the diversity of law practice by profiling happy lawyers in many practices. Forte built this so unhappy lawyers (many of whom are women or racialized lawyers) can consider their options to stay in law and find happiness. "When I started it, I was really thinking about the disenchanted big-firm associates, at their desks at midnight, crying, thinking that they hate their jobs [and] maybe [have] lost touch with their families. They are there at midnight and Googling, 'I hate my law job.' I wanted to create something that those people would find." Forte says they have expanded the site beyond telling stories to examine the "pipeline to law" with a job board. "I want to have lawyers in every province and territory, doing every kind of imagin- able practice." Forte is looking to help other lawyers do what helped her find happiness in her career: question their idea of success by hearing from the wide range of happy lawyers out there. CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to the McLeish Orlando lawyers selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Canada™ 2023 and for The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada™ for their expertise in Personal Injury Litigation. 1-866-685-3311 | www.mcleishorlando.com Dale Orlando Patrick Brown John McLeish Joseph Cescon Lindsay Charles William Keele William Harding Salvatore Shaw
