Bringing Justice and Providing Advocacy to Canadians. James Newland and Brian Moher join Gluckstein Lawyers, expanding its Class Actions and Mass Torts team, and bringing an evolving model of justice to Canadians. Newland approaches his practice with a passionate curiosity, enjoying working with expert witnesses, learning about cutting- edge technology, and being exposed to new areas of law. Both the firm and its clients will benefit from his proven track record and the expertise he brings to his role. Newland is joined at Gluckstein by Brian Moher, a senior associate who has developed his own reputation in the space. With almost two decades of experience in medical negligence cases and class actions, Moher, is a perfect fit for Gluckstein Lawyers' growing team. He is drawn to the complexity of issues these cases present, noting it appeals to his personality in that he likes to "see big problems and work out a big solution." He also enjoys the scientific and educational aspects of what is, procedurally and substantively, a complex legal field. "At Gluckstein, we're taking a holistic approach to class actions and mass torts, prioritizing the best solutions for clients to achieve their objectives," Moher says. "There is a tremendous infusion of energy and synergy within our Class Actions and Mass Torts team, and I am happy to work beside them and bring support to our clients." Managing Partner Charles Gluckstein is leading the charge when it comes to fearless innovation, expanding the firm and steadily building a class-A Class Actions and Mass Torts team. In 2021, the firm brought in experienced litigator Steve Rastin who joined long-time associate Jordan Assaraf, and the team now grows again with the strategic additions of Newland and Moher. "We are well positioned to become a top-tier firm in the area of class actions and mass torts," says Gluckstein. "James will head up the group along with Steve to grow our firm's expertise in this exciting area of practice." Newland agrees, citing the team's experience and quality service as key to its ability to help clients. "This area requires careful thought and analysis specific to each case to deliver the best results," he said. "That takes experience as well as a high level of service to our clients, something that I'm excited to deliver here at Gluckstein Lawyers."
