The deal is worth $78 million. NOVACAP FOLIOT FURNITURE INC Novacap acquired a majority stake in the provider of furnishings for the hospitality and educational housing communities. SCOTIABANK MD FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT MD Financial Management was sold by Canadian Medical Association for $2.585 billion. JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEMS, LLC CANACCEDE FINANCIAL GROUP The deal expands Jefferson Capital's global footprint and strengthens Canaccede's leadership in the Canadian consumer debt solutions space. BMO FINANCIAL GROUP CLEARPOOL GROUP INC. Acquistion of the electronic trading solutions company is expected to simplify how BMO does business. Divestiture of Ridley Terminals completed Canada Development Investment Corporation, on behalf of the Government of Canada, completed the sale of 90 per cent of Canada's shares in Ridley Terminals Inc. to 1210565 B.C. Ltd. (a joint venture of two US private equity firms — AMCI Group and Riverstone Holdings). The concurrent transfer of 10 per cent of the shares of RTI was made to Coast Tsimshian RTI Holdings Limited Partnership, a limited partnership owned by the Lax Kw'alaams Band and the Metlakatla First Nation. The total sale price was $350 million. CORPORATE Former GC joins Harper Grey LLP Ryan Bencic has joined Vancouver- based Harper Grey as an associate in the business law group where he advises entrepreneurs on corporate and commercial matters. Having been the co-founder and GC of legal tech company PainWorth and GC of the general partner to private equity fund Kezia Capital I LP, Bencic is able to draw on these experiences to provide practical advice at all stages of the business lifecycle. He completed his law degree at the University of Alberta and was called to the Alberta bar in 2017 and the British Columbia bar in 2020.
